Background: Samuel is now at the end of mourning for Saul. God Calls his to another anointing, this time the choice is about the heart.
1 Sam. 16:1-2 “How long will you grieve over Saul…”
1 Sam. 16:3-5 “Anoint for Me the one whom I designate to you.”
1 Sam. 16:6-11 “God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Sam. 16:12-14 “Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul…”
1 Sam. 16:15-23 “Provide for me now a man who can play well and bring him to me.”
