Background: During a Battle with the Philistines Jonathon, Sauls son, rout the enemy. Foolishly King Saul makes an oath for all the soldiers that they should not eat until evening and the enemies are destroyed. (vs. 24)
1 Sam. 14:25-31 “for Saul had put the people under oath…”
1 Sam. 14:32-35 “Behold, the people are sinning against the Lord by eating with the blood.”
1 Sam. 14:36-40 “Let us draw near to God here.”
1 Sam. 14:41-46 “Therefore, Saul said to the Lord, the God of Israel, “Give a perfect lot.”
